About Me
What inspires me
I am a big fan of anything and everything illustrated. I pull inspiration from comic books, picture books, posters, antiques, video games, movies, music, my children, my students, the person standing in front of me in line, cloud shapes, fashion, photography, ceramics, toys, package design, and on and on.
What I've made of it
All of that inspiration typically results in character portraits, illustrations of monsters, fruit...portraits, animal paintings on cut wood, block prints of critters and things, the occasional landscape, and clay objects...with faces on them. I like faces.
What I am doing now
In addition to channeling my inspirations into my sketchbooks and paintings, I teach art to middle school students and make fun things with my kids at home. I am presently working on my first picture book and designing images for various print-to-order sites.
